Dear Editor:

As a long-time resident of Wayland (40 years!), and a former newspaper correspondent, I am very impressed with the two candidates Tony Boschetto (Board of Selecmen) and School Committee candidate Donna Bouchard. Besides being amazingly bright and knowledgeable about finances, both have done much more. Tony, an 18-year resident of Wayland, has repaired playing fields, developed training programs for Wayland youths to become umpires-for-hire, and other privately-funded programs for 300+ children (check out his webpage www.TonyBoschetto.com). I have watched various Selectmen since 1972 and written about many of them, and Tony is very impressive. He will certainly lead us in the right direction. We need him on the Board of Selectmen now.

Donna Bouchard, who has lived in Wayland for 20 years, is also outstanding as well as a wonderful personality. I am amazed how she understands the complexity of a school budget. I have witnessed her in various meetings working with the school department on the 2012 budget where she found sufficient funds to reinstate two full-time teachers. She discovered $500,000 in a fund that had been reserved unnecessarily which was then returned to taxpayers. Donna successfully advocated for an independent review of school and town budgeting processes in 2011, a result that has enormously benefited the town. As Donna says, (see her website at www.DonnaBouchard.com), “I am not running on campaign promises, I am running on a proven track record.” We would be terribly amiss not to elect Donna Bouchard McHarg to the School Committee.

Please join me on Tuesday, April 2 and vote the two Bs into office!
