I am supporting Donna Bouchard for Wayland School Committee because of her resolve to ensure our school's excellent reputation and her proven ability to understand and manage complex financial issues.
If you have attended Town Meeting the past three years, then you may be aware of the black hole of accounting errors that Donna has helped dig us out of. An advocate for an independent review of town & school budget process, Donna's leadership resulted in the return of millions of dollars to taxpayers.
Donna's ability to work well with officials, and her constructive input to the School Committee has yielded many positive results including restoring funds and avoiding cuts at the middle school.
When issues arise concerning the quality of education or the possibility of understaffing, Donna does not sit passively by. She will work hard to offer the schools the tools they need while keeping an eye on the long-term stability of our school system. In short, Donna is qualified in all respects to not only preserve what we have but to continue to improve the quality of our students' education by cutting out wasteful spending and directing those resources to proven methods.
We need the leadership of Donna Bouchard on the Wayland School Committee and I ask you to join me in support of Donna’s candidacy and vote April 2.
Thank you.
Douglas Leard
