Donna Bouchard is running for School Committee because she believes that Wayland Public Schools can do even more with our tax-funded resources through improved fiscal management. Voting for her does not require a leap of faith. Her track record ought to inspire every single Wayland voter to put a check next to her name.

  • In 2010, she advocated for the Abrahams Group independent review of our school and town budgeting process.
  • In 2011, she sponsored a town meeting article, supported by the Wayland Finance Committee, to restate all FY2011 school expenditures, resulting in a savings of more than $600,000, some of which was reallocated to cover the cost of our beautiful new high school’s parking lots.
  • That same year, she was the lead petitioner for the 2011 Special Town Meeting, during which voters overwhelmingly supported her initiative, leading to the return of $1,000 to the average Wayland household without any reduction in services.
  • She worked closed with the School Department on the FY 2012 budget and found sufficient funds to reinstate two full-time teachers and comply with the recommended class size guidelines at Wayland Middle School without increasing taxes.

Donna has nearly 30 years of professional fiscal management experience, was the youngest vice president in the history of Liz Claiborne, Inc. and is currently director of product development for the world’s largest global trading company. She is a committed parent and citizen actively involved in our community through our schools and town sports and recreation programs.
