Letter: 'Dynamic' Bouchard, Boschetto are Right for Wayland
Bruce and Barbara Schwoegler Discuss their support of Tony Boschetto for Wayland Board of Selectmen and Donna Bouchard for Wayland School Committee.

Dear Ms. Lowery:Â
We enthusiastically endorse two dynamic Wayland residents for Patch coverage. They are: Tony Boschetto for Board of Selectmen and Donna Bouchard for School Committee. Their efforts as private citizens have increased transparency and accountability in Wayland for the past four years. Their endeavors advocating for an independent audit of the town and school departments have resulted in millions of refunded tax dollars, a reduction in the town’s tax rate and zero reduction in town services. In fact, some needed school funding was restored through these efforts.
Tony Boschetto is a respected 18-year town resident with an extensive public service record. As president of the Wayland Baseball and Softball Association, Tony has accomplished much by collaborating with local businesses. The installation of a new athletic storage shed at Claypit Hill School; new fencing and baseball equipment at Cochituate Ballfield; and constructing dugouts, fencing, signs and batting cages at Art King next to Town Hall are but a few of his accomplishments. He has also implemented programs that have resulted in enhanced teaching of the game and incentives for Wayland High School students wishing to teach younger children. Tony’s impressive professional background includes 25 years as an accountant and management executive with a leading global company. Currently Tony serves on the Wayland Audit Committee.

Donna Bouchard is a 20-year Wayland resident with an equally impressive civic record. She has been a multiple petitioner at Town Meeting seeking to reinstate services and refund taxpayer overpayments uncovered by the audit she sought. She is a member of the Town Meeting Procedures Subcommittee, providing an important service to the town while learning more about our unique and special legislative process. Donna was also the youngest person selected to be the vice president of a Fortune 500 Company, Liz Claiborne, Inc., and is currently the director of product development for the world’s largest trading company with annual revenues of $20 billion.
We ask you to promote and support these superlative candidates as April nears.
