'...'Proof Points' That the Dogs are Using the Trails'
A look at what got folks had to say on the Wayland Patch comment board this week.

Weekly Question: Have You Frequented Wayland Town Center's Businesses?
- "We have been to both Bertucci's and Stop and Shop. The grand opening party of Stop and Shop was excellent and very welcoming. I like the Framingham store better because it offers many more varied items. I do go to the one in the Town Center for a few quick things and am very glad it is there. The Bertucci's is great and the service is excellent! It is nice to have the Town Center and I look forward to more things opening up soon!" - JR
- "I guess I like this Stop & Shop better than Natick because the parking lot makes A LOT more sense and is less dangerous for pedestrians. I also feel Wayland is superior to Framingham in that the store is much cleaner. Granted it is new, but the Framingham site has always seemed dirty to me. I like the fact that the refrigerator items are behind closed doors, saving energy and making the aisle more comfortable for shoppers. The meat choices in Wayland are more appetizing than those same selections in Framingham. I have switched to Stop and Shop for many items that I once purchased at Whole Foods, such as seafood, as I never felt I could trust Stop & Shop. The Wayland staff seem well educated about safety practices." - Michele C

Speak Up: What Business Do You Hope to See Come to Wayland in 2013?
"A bookstore here also. A bookstore done right. Wayland Booksmith. Right at the Finnerty's site. And, a small, independent/second run theatre. Bam! Drop those two on the Finnerty's site, tell CVS to pound sand, everybody wins. Or at least I win." - Geoff
Selectmen Honor Firefighter for Alabama Relief Effort
"Just spending a cold rainy day scanning the internet when I came upon your web site. I was raised in Wayland, graduated from Wayland Highchool in 1958, and was a volunteer fireman on the Wayland Fire Department during the late 50's. I have now lived in Tuscaloosa, AL for about 16 years. April 2011 is a time we will not forget for a long time. I want to personally thank all those in Wayland, particularly the firemen, who helped Tuscaloosa after the tornado. Maybe some of my old friends and associates participated. Thank you." - David Hollis
"I have been a nurse for over 40 years. I cannot remember a more virulent flu in this region. I cared for a family yesterday whose previously well 4 year old had died of the flu the day before. I have a 60 year old friend who never gets the flu shot because he "is healthy and never gets the flu." He was admitted for several days with a severe pneumonia and such a concerning headache he had several, very expensive, consults and scans that all revealed his problems are the result of the flu. He has been out of work for three weeks, lost 15 pounds, is still dizzy when he showers and it will likely be several more weeks before he has the strength and resilience to return to work full time. There are three strains of the flu this year's vaccine will protect you against. One of the strains in this year's vaccine is exactly the virulent strain that is causing so much morbidity. If you haven't had the vaccine GET IT ASAP. If you have had it - great.., but it is still important to use good judgement.., Avoid sick people and crowds, keep your hands clean with hand sanitizer and handwashing, stay hydrated and well rested. Get vaccinated, use good judgement, stay well!" - Pat
