Selectmen Preview: Conversion to LED Streetlights and A WayCam Update

The Wayland Board of Selectmen will meet Monday at 7 p.m. at Wayland Town Building.

Town Administrator Fred Turkington submitted the preview below.

The Board of Selectmen will meet on Monday, March 4, 2013 in Wayland Town Building. After Chairman John Bladon reviews the meeting agenda for the viewing public and makes any announcements, selectmen will receive public comment.

At 7:15 p.m., the board will listen to an informational presentation by SUASCO representative Nancy Bryant on stormwater management efforts provided by that organization.

At 7:30 p.m., selectmen will conduct a public hearing regarding an application for a change of managers for the liquor license for Bertucci’s Restaurant at Town Center. The individual designated by the company has been cleared by the police department and approval of the request has been recommended by the town administrator.

Next, the board will hear the annual report from WayCAM, the public access cable television provider for educational and governmental programming, as required by the memorandum of agreement between the town and the organization. Selectmen will also consider the appointment of an eighth member to the group’s board of directors. Connie Burgess has been recommended to the selectmen by WayCAM through its president, Ken Isaacson.

Later, selectmen will hear an update from Energy Initiatives Advisory Committee co-chair Anne Harris as to the status of discussions with Nstar for converting streetlights in Wayland to LED fixtures and bulbs.

Selectmen will consider the consent calendar and review correspondence, listen to the report of the town administrator, and offer general items of concern.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the Selectmen's Meeting Room.
