Wayland Cleans Up: Earth Day Volunteer Event Planned

Wear gloves and good walking shoes and stop in for a bag to join in the annual clean-up of the town.

WAYLAND, MA—Wayland comes together to clean up the town of its annual Earth Day event on Saturday, April 7, organized by Transition Wayland.

Stop by one of two stations, at the Cochituate Ball Field (40 West Plain St.) or at the Department of Public Works (66 River Road), between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to grab free bags, gloves and instructions. Sort recyclables and trash. For large or hazardous items, email Transition Wayland to arrange a pickup.

Drop off “collections” at the Wayland Transfer Station (484 Boston Post Road) before 3:30 p.m.

To all volunteers: wear bright colors, insect repellent, sunscreen, hats and you are encouraged to take selfies and share on social media.
