Wayland Health Department Has Limited Supply of Flu Vaccine Mist

The department's flu vaccine supply was rapidly depleted following a public health emergency announcement two weeks ago.

The Wayland Health Department has received additional stocks of flu vaccine mist and will provide the vaccine to children with written consent from parents.

According to a press release from the department, a limited amount of the intranasal vaccine became available as of Tuesday, Jan. 22. Parents are asked to read the information about the vaccine and fill out the consent form before seeking the vaccination.

The department does not currently have any injectable flu vaccine. Individuals who need the injection can contact the department and be placed on a list to be contacted when the Health Department receives additional supplies, which is expected to occur mid to late next week, the press release reads.
