WAYLAND, MA—Is it us, or do the summers feel shorter and shorter. Parents perhaps are breathing a sigh of relief, but kids and teachers are checking their calendars daily as the school year gets ready to hit. Most teachers have already headed back to prep for a few days before the children land in those desks.

Here's a guide to help you navigate the march back to the classroom.

Grades 1-12 start on Tuesday, Sept. 4. Kindergarten starts on Sept. 6

The current enrollment for Wayland is 2,714 is our current enrollment, up only slightly from 2,710 was our on Sept. 1, 2017.

In the district:

Wayland's district has three elementary schools, one middle school and 1 high school. The pre-school that is under the auspices of the Wayland Public Schools, The Children's Way, is the early childhood inclusion program for the WaylandPublic Schools and also serves typically developing preschoolers in a private, fee-based model.

What's new?

There are no new principals this year in Wayland, and approximately 20 new teachers have started. There are new windows and doors at the Loker school, a new kitchen also at Loker, a new phone system at the middle school and tile work at the middle school. While there are no changes for 2018-2019 in start times, the School Committee is discussing changes for 2019-2020 school year.
