The deadline to submit articles for Wayland's 2013 Annual Town Meeting Warrant was Jan. 15.

When the dust cleared, articles had been submitted by a wide range of town committees and boards, and a few petitioners' articles were also in the mix.

Appropriate CPA Funds for Fire Alarm and Sprinklers at Cochituate Village Apartments - This article requests the town appropriate $1 million from a combination of the community housing, historical preservation and unassigned accounts of the CPA to equip Cochituate Village Apartments with "suitable fire detection, alarm, and suppression system that meets or exceeds the relevant requirements of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and the Town of Wayland."

Public Consumption of Marijuana - This article seeks to prohibit public consumption of marijuana, medical or recreational. It also outlines the penalties for failure to comply.

Acquisition of 150 Main Street Property (Formerly Finnerty's Restaurant) - This article seeks to direct the Board of Selectmen to acquire the 150 Main Street property by purchase, eminent domain or otherwise. It estimates the cost at $1.13 million.

Amend Town Code Chapter 193A: Land Clearing, Grading and Protection of Specimen Trees - This article seeks to alter the town code to require anyone clearing 20,000 square feet of land or more to apply for and obtain a permit from the Conservation Commission. The article does not include a cost, but does stipulate that security be posted to ensure compliance with any permit issued.

Amend Town Code Section 6-4: Public Comment at Meetings - This article would amend the town code to require public comment be invited at the beginning of each public meeting.
