The Fascinating Life of Gertrude Bell

Indelible History at the American Heritage Museum
A compelling survey of America’s military history by Hunter Chaney of the AHM in Hudson. Museum visitors explore America’s conflicts, from the Revolution to today, and interact with history, learning about the development of new technologies of warfare, and the impact of military conflict on humanity. Jason Tandon Poetry Reading & Book Launch
The meditative, imagistic poems of Jason Tandon's This Far North evoke a Zen-like “suchness” in the natural world and the daily tasks with which we busy our lives. Readers looking for a poetry that is seasonal and spare, present and attentive, will find much to savor in this stunning collection. Tandon has written five books of poetry and teaches in the writing program at Boston University. Sunday, June 4 at 3 p.m. in the Library rotunda.

Virtual Author Talk: Beer Hiking New England with Carey Kish
A seasoned hiker and beer enthusiast, Carey Kish traveled over 300 miles on foot and tasted more than 230 different beers to bring readers this great selection of hikes and brews. Carey will talk about the stunning scenery that awaits you, and the breweries and brewpubs nearby that’ll quench your thirst at hike’s end. Planning a Garden and Cooking with Herbs
In this interactive program, Wayland resident Cindi Jacobs shares her expertise in planning and maintaining an herb garden. Then, Holli Bassin offers tips for cooking with herbs and the important role herbs can play in your health. Cindi designs interior home spaces and is an avid gardener. Outdoor Baby & Toddler Storytime with Ms. Carly
This storytime encourages early literacy and caregiver-child interactions with lively songs and rhymes, bounces, books, and body-awareness. Best for babies and toddlers, with caregiver.
Weather permitting, we will meet outdoors on the green lawn. Tuesdays, May 23, May 30, June 6. June 13, June 20 and June 27 at 10:30 a.m.
Outdoor Storytime with Ms. Pam
Join Ms. Pam for stories, songs, puppets, and activities. For ages 2.5 to 5 years with an adult. Please register. We will meet in the Children’s Room. Thursdays, June 1, June 15, June 22, and June 29 at 10:30 a.m.
Storytime with Obie the Dog

Magic the Gathering for Teens
Teens! Play Magic the Gathering with your friends! Bring your own Magic Cards or use ours. Experienced players and newbies welcome. For teens in grades 6 and up. We will meet in the Teen Loft. Please register. Friday, May 26 at 4:30 p.m.
Henna Workshop for Teens
Henna, more traditionally referred to as Mehendi art, is a temporary tattoo art form consisting of intricate motifs that adorn hands and feet. This workshop will take an unconventional approach to the ancient art form. Teens will begin by getting familiar with the henna cone, and then draw patterns, such as flowers, leaves, and vines, on a canvas. Teens are also, of course, welcome to draw on their own hands. All materials will be provided. Local teen Niyathi Srinivasan from Henna for Humanity will lead this workshop. Register HERE. Thursday, June 8, 4:00-6:00 p.m.
