2 Wellesley Students Awarded National Merit Scholarships
Two Wellesley students are among about 3,800 students nationwide who won college-sponsored National Merit Scholarship awards.
WELLESLEY, MA — Two Wellesley students have won college-sponsored National Merit Scholarship awards, according to the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. They are among about 3,800 students across the country who have won college-sponsored National Merit Scholarship awards financed by 153 U.S. colleges and universities.
The two winners are both seniors at Wellesley High School.
Evan Daigle won the National Merit Washington and Lee University Scholarship. Daigle's probable career field is economics.

Rindha Reddy won the National Merit Tufts University Scholarship. Reddy's probable career field is computer science.
The winners were selected from students who advanced to the finalist level in the National Merit Scholarship competition. College sponsors provide National Merit Scholarships for finalists who plan to attend their institution.

The awards are between $500 and $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate study.
The final group of winners brings the number of 2023 National Merit Scholars to more than 7,140. These students will receive scholarships worth a total of nearly $28 million.
