Wellesley College President Kim Bottomly announced Friday that she will step down from her position next year.Bottomly, who received the position in 2007, informed the college's Board of Trustees during a meeting of her decision to leave Wellesley in July 2016. Bottomly is the first scientist to lead Wellesley, which is a private women's liberal arts college."There will never be an easy time to leave such a wonderful place," Bottomly wrote in a letter to the school. "But this is the right time for me. I am confident that Wellesley will continue to build on this base to achieve all the goals and aspirations of this remarkable college."Photo: Wellesley College
