Put On Training Wheels for Jack's Magic Bean Ride in Wellesley
The Training Wheels 16-, 33- and 55-mile bike ride to raise money for pediatric cancer returns next week. Actual training wheels optional.

Matt and Linda Ramsden, Wellesley residents, have organized the Training Wheels bike ride for the last four years--a fundraising ride that raises money for rare pediatric cancers and supporting families.

According to their FirstGiving registration page, the rides alone have raised over $150,000 for pediatric cancer research through Jack's Magic Bean fund.
This year, there is a 16-, a 33- and a 55-mile route bikers can take which winds through Wellesley, and neighboring communities. Organizers also announced that Anna's Tacqueria, a Boston burrito chain, is providing post-ride meals at the Magic Bean Fiesta.

Riders over 18 are asked to raise at least $250, and to aim for $1,000 raised on the ride. Full details are on the FirstGiving registration page, as is information on signing up for the ride.
The couple lost their son Jack in 2005 to Neuroblastoma, according to the Swellesley Report. Through the fund, the couple have raised over $300,000 for research and for Maine's Camp Sunshine.

This fund is dedicated to Jack, a brave boy from Beantown who went up against an angry giant. In Jack’s name, we continue to fight the giant so that one day soon, all families of pediatric cancer will have their fairytale endings.
