Shoplifing, Man On The Roof: Wellesley Police Log

March 25
10:31 a.m. - Officer Popovski was dispatched to a residence on Westgate Road for a report of prescription medication that was stolen during an open house. The two reporting parties stated that it appeared two prescription bottles were taken from a bathroom on the second floor of the residence. There were 11 people who signed in at the open house and two other groups of people that viewed the residence did not sign in. The realtor did not see anything suspicious during the open house.
12:12 p.m. - Officer Hughes spoke with a resident on Pinewood Road regarding suspicious activity. The report is incomplete at this time and no further information is available.

9:50 p.m. - Officer Wall was conducting traffic enforcement on Worcester Street near Audubon Road when he observed a vehicle traveling west with no headlights. He stopped the vehicle on Worcester Street near Weston Road and spoke with the operator, 26-year-old Torrence Cameron-Brooks of Dorchester, and requested his license and the vehicle registration. Officer Wall subsequently queried Cameron-Brooks’ information and learned that his license was suspended and the vehicle was unregistered and uninsured. Cameron-Brooks was taken into custody, transported to the station, booked in the usual manner, afforded all rights and held on bail.
March 26

1:39 p.m. - Officer Cunningham was dispatched to a residence on Elmwood Road for a report of a sculpture the homeowner had in his back yard that was damaged. The reporting party stated the damage occurred overnight. There are no suspects.
March 27
12:45 p.m. - Officer Poirier was dispatched to a business on Central Street for a report of a past shoplifting incident. A store employee reported that a woman in her late 50’s purchased one piece of jewelry and stolen a second piece which was valued at $425. She stated that the woman used a credit card to make the purchase. Officer Poirier is investigating.
5:28 p.m. - Officer Keenan was dispatched to a residence on Wynnewood Road for a report of two men who had been on the property and were unknown to the reporting party. The reporting party stated her video security cameras captured images of the two men walking around the property at approximately 11 a.m. They attempted to gain access to a locked backyard area and then left. Officer Keenan is investigating.
March 28
6:02 a.m. - Officer Amalfi spoke with a woman at the police station regarding identity theft. The reporting party stated that an unknown person had opened a PayPal account using her credit card information. She had already spoken to her credit card company and the credit reporting agency. She was provided with an identity theft resource guide.
2:45 p.m. - Officer Poirier spoke with a woman who stated there was a fraudulent Craigslist advertisement stating that a property on Dunedin Road was for rent and the individual posing as the owner of the property was asking potential renters for money up front to view the property. Officer Poirier is investigating.
3:57 p.m. - Officer Joseph spoke with a woman who stated that her phone was stolen from her place of employment and was used to withdraw money from her bank account. The report is incomplete at this time and no further information is available.
March 29
12:02 p.m. - Officer Wagner was dispatched to a residence on Worcester Street for a report of an unknown party on the roof of the residence. Officers located a man who turned out to be a family member attempted to gain entry into the residence through a window, via the roof. The man had gone to a friend’s house and when he returned home the doors were locked.
March 30
6:00 p.m. - Sgt. Gallagher was on a motor vehicle stop when he observed an Audi station wagon with a rejection sticker. He stopped the vehicle on Worcester Street and spoke with the operator, 41-year-old Miguel Velazquez of Needham, and requested his license and registration. A query of Velazquez’s information showed that his license was suspended. He was taken into custody, transported to the station, booked in the usual manner, afforded all rights and released on bail.
