Smoke-Filled Home, Stolen Package: Wellesley Police Log

April 9
9:20 a.m. - Officer D’Innocenzo responded to 23-year-old Connor Campanelli’s residence to serve a probation warrant that had been issued by the Dedham District Court. Campanelli was taken into custody and transported directly to Dedham District Court.
6:39 p.m. - Officer Wall responded to the Pavao construction site on Worcester Street for a report of vandalism to a light tower. The light tower had been stored in the Calvin Street parking lot on April 9 around midnight. Officer Amalfi had noticed the damage to the light while doing building security checks at approximately 2:17 a.m. There are no suspects at this time.

April 10
5:00 a.m. - Officer D’Innocenzo was conducting traffic enforcement on Worcester Street near Longfellow Road when he observed a Toyota sedan and conducted a random query of the vehicle’s registration. The query showed an active warrant for the registered owner, Maria Moreira for motor vehicle-related charges. Officer D’Innocenzo stopped the vehicle on Worcester Street near Ottaway Circle and confirmed that the operator of the vehicle was Moreira. She was taken into custody, transported to the station, booked in the usual manner, afforded all rights and transported to Dedham District Court.

April 11
1:30 a.m. - Officer D’Innocenzo was on patrol and observed a GMC SUV parked at the intersection of Hunnewell Street and Wellesley Ave with its hazard lights flashing and conducted a query of the vehicle’s registration. The query showed there was an active warrant for the registered owner, Mr. Dana Rogers for motor vehicle-related charges. Officer D’Innocenzo spoke with the operator, Mr. Rogers. He was taken into custody, transported to the station, booked in the usual manner, afforded all rights and transported to Dedham District Court.
April 12
2:15 p.m. - Officer Joseph spoke with a man at the police station about a missing package that was delivered the previous day. The reporting party stated the tracking information showed that it had been delivered at 2:25 p.m., but he had not received it. The package contained a vehicle replacement part valued at approximately $70. There are no suspects.
7:38 p.m. and 10:19 p.m. - Officer DeBernardi was dispatched to a residence for a fire alarm activation. On both occasions, the resident appeared intoxicated and the first floor of the residence was filled with smoke. The smoke appeared to have resulted from an oven being left on. The resident was taken into protective custody due to concern for her safety after the second fire alarm activation call. She was later transported to an area hospital for evaluation.
