Frank Bidar won the prize for his book "Half-Light: Collected Poems 1965-2016."

WELLESLEY, MA — A Wellesley College professor who also happens to be one of America's most respected poet can now add a Pulitzer Prize to his resume.

Frank Bidart, Andrew W. Mellon Professor in the Humanities at Wellesley, won the prize for his book “Half-Light: Collected Poems 1965-2016.” He told the Boston Globe that he found out he won by watching the awards ceremony at his home on his iPad.

He said he thought his book would be considered but didn't think he would end up with an award.
