Alleged Serial Robber Nabbed After Breaking Into Westborough Home

Westborough, Lowell and Chelmsford police worked together to catch an alleged house burglar.

WESTBOROUGH, MA—A Boston man is facing charges, and likely more, for allegedly stealing a vehicle and then breaking into a Westborough home. He is also suspected of breaking into other homes in the area.

On Oct. 24, around 12:14 p.m., Westborough police headed to Walker Street for a reported house break.

The homeowner said a white male parked in front of the home, and she took a picture of the suspect and the vehicle he was driving. The plate on the vehicle didn't match the vehicle that was registered, according to police.

Investigators figured out which car was being used, and the plates had been stolen from another car in Lowell. A Chelmsford officer noticed the vehicle in his city, and the suspect was taken into custody after officers matched the photo with the one taken by the homeowner. The items taken from the Westborough home were recovered from the stolen vehicle.

Edward J. Flynn, 54, Mass Ave, Boston was arrested. Through other items found in the stolen vehicle, Flynn will be tied to a number of additional breaks throughout the area. He will be arraigned at the Westborough District Court at a later date for breaking and entering daytime, larceny over $250 and malicious destruction of property.
