Ahead Of July 4, Westborough Block Party Taking Over Downtown

This year's Independence Day block party will include everything from pony rides to food trucks.

WESTBOROUGH, MA — Westborough's annual Independence Day block party will return to Baystate Common this month, offering an enormous range of activities and family fun.

The June 28 event will include live music, hay rides, pony rides, a bounce house, face painting, a dunk tank, and food from local eateries including Dean’s Concessions, Cream Crock, Red Heat Tavern, Uhlmans and Simmer and Spice.

Music will be provided by the Reminisants Band, and magician Fran Flynn will provide entertainment. The event won't include fireworks.

The block party will run 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on June 28 at Baystate Common. If you're really looking for fireworks, Worcester will hold its July 4 celebration that same night, beginning at 9:30 p.m. at East Park along Shrewsbury Street.
