Bridge Connecting Westborough, Hopkinton Reopens: MassDOT
The Fruit Street Bridge, which has been closed since November 2021, has reopened to traffic.

WESTBOROUGH, MA — After more than two years, the Fruit Street Bridge connecting Westborough and Hopkinton is now open to traffic, according to MassDOT.
The bridge closure was in place since November 2021.
But even though the bridge has reopened, MassDOT said lane may be in effect for final work until summer 2024.

The $12.5 million Fruit Street bridge replacement project began in February 2023 and was initially anticipated to last until spring 2023.
Fruit Street crosses the Sudbury River and MBTA tracks just south of Southville Road, bringing drivers south to Route 135.

Drivers had to detour around the closure using either Route 85 or Route 9 to Route 135, according to MassDOT.
