Country Club Restaurant's Grand Opening Includes Fundraiser

The event is from 7:30 to 11 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22.

The Westborough Country Club's new restaurant's grand opening also will be a booster athletic fundraiser.

The event is from 7:30 to 11 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22 at 121 West Main St., according to a flyer distributed at Saturday's Westborough High School varsity football game. Tickets are $30, which includes food and a raffle.

The Grille at Westborough Country Club is replacing Mulligan's Taverne-on=the Green, which had been there for 10 years.

Mulligan's lease expired Sept. 15. In August, selectmen awarded a new 10-year lease to course Superintendent Michael Hightower's Golf Course Management Inc., which will run The Grille at Westborough Country Club.

Hightower's company will pay $1,200 per month in "gross" rent, with "a 'recoupment' of $1,080 per month for a net rent of $120 per month," Town Manager Jim Malloy said at that time. The lease expires on March 1, 2023.

Selectmen will hold a public hearing on a new liquor license for The Grille at 6:05 p.m. Tuesday in Forbes Municipal Building Room 23.
