Watch For Detours, Street Closures In Westborough As Big Sewer Project Begins

A major sewer rehabilitation project in the downtown Westborough area that started in March will enter a new phase this month.

WESTBOROUGH, MA — Anyone passing through downtown Westborough may encounter detours and delays starting May 13 as a major sewer project enters a new phase.

The sewer rehab project, which officially began in March, will move into an area southwest of the downtown rotary on Monday. The work will take place along West Main Street, but also in the neighborhoods around School, Ruggles, Cross and Forbes streets.

sewer on Central Street and West Main Street," the public works department said in a recent update. "Lane closures and detours will be implemented during the project. Police details will assist with traffic control."

The work will take place over two weeks between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays. Anyone with questions can call DPW at (508) 366-3070.
