Fruit Street Closures In Westborough For Paving, Utility Work: MassDOT

WESTBOROUGH, MA — Two separate sections of Fruit Street in Westborough will close during day nighttime hours this week to allow MassDOT to complete construction work.

The nighttime closures will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. the next day along the section that crosses the Sudbury River and railroad tracks. A detour will take drivers along either Route 135 or Route 9.

A second daytime closure will take place on Wednesday between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. along the Fruit Street Bridge over I-495 for utility work. Traffic will detour around the work using Woodland Street.

The $12.5 million Fruit Street bridge replacement project began in February 2022 and lasted until December. This week's work is related to that project, and is the first of what might be several closures this spring and summer.
