Glue Is Not Food, Wipe The Vents: Westboro's Health Inspections

Westborough's health department conducted multiple inspections in April.

WESTBOROUGH, MA—The following inspections were supplied by the Westborough Board of Health and include inspections that took place in April. The inspection notes are that of the health department.

  • Westborough Food Pantry, 9 East Main St., April 4: Received no violations. This facility is extremely organized and all items are kept fresh and dated.
  • Cafe 9, 1500 Westboro Drive, April 12: Received one non-critical violation. Cutting boards are starting to see scoring and scratching. These will need to be replaced within a few months. This facility is kept in a very clean and organized manner overall.
  • Turnpike Road Shell, 128 Turnpike Road, April 13: Please store chemicals (such as batteries and air fresheners) below or separate from the food.
  • Cafe 9, 112 Turnpike Road, April 18: One non-critical violation. Notes included: Ensure the interior of the ice machine is cleaned as well as the back parts. Small black substance on the wall. Facility recently had a power outage and took great steps to take to ensure food was kept in a safe manner. If not, it was discarded.
  • Lowe's, 260-266 Turnpike Road, April 19: No violations. All food items kept in clean and organized manner. Bathrooms clean and proper signage.
  • L&D Wines, 290 Turnpike Road, April 19: No violations. All food items six inches off the floor and coolers and shelving kept clean.
  • Veebops Ice Cream, April 20: ServSafe is expired. If hot dogs are going to be served, renew.
  • GNC Stores, 600 Union St., April 23: Received four non-critical violations. Please fill the hand towel dispenser. Garbage needs to have a bag. Ensure paper towels are not flushed as this will affect the sewage and can cause a back up. All food and food related items must be stored six inches or more above the floor. Provide racks for product at the front of the store and items stored on the floor in the back. Out of date items are stored separated in the back room. Items are stored in a clean and organized manner.
  • Off the Hook Roadside Eatery, 127 Main St., April 24: One non-critical violation. Great temp logs. Please wipe down hood and clean the vents between professional cleanings. Owner's ServSafe expired.
  • Positively Preschool, 222 Turnpike Road, April 23: No violations. Ensure food is kept separate from other items. Lunches brought in by families. Snacks provided by facility.
  • Simple Enough Natural Foods, 20 East Lyman St., April 24: Two non-critical violations. Scoops used for self serve items stored correctly. Shelves in clean and organized manner. Please hang up mop to dry when not in use. Ensure all food is six inches off the floor, including drinks. A sanitize sign is needed for the three-bay sink in the back.
  • Westborough Little League, April 27: No violations. Grease trap was cleaned. Microwave clean. Sanitizer available. Hot water needs to be operational. Make sure the tank works.
  • Staples, 18 Lyman St., April 30: One non-critical violation. Do not store glue with food related items. It should be on a separate shelf. Ensure that the staff microwave gets cleaned.
  • Sunshine Convenience Store, 63 East Main St., April 30: No violations. The bathroom is shared with Gourmet Donuts. Coolers and food areas all neat, clean and organized.
