Gov. Maura Healey In Westborough To Visit Battery Firm
The Tuesday visit is part of the governor's roadshow highlighting benefits of a proposed bond bill focused on economic development.

WESTBOROUGH, MA — Gov. Maura Healey will stop in Westborough Tuesday afternoon as part of a wider tour across the state to promote an economic development bill wants lawmakers to pass.
Healey will appear at Ascend Elements, a Flanders Road company that salvages lithium-ion battery parts to make new ones, at 12:45 p.m. with Economic Development Secretary Yvonne Hao and Energy and Environmental Affairs Secretary Rebecca Tepper.
The stop in Westborough is part of Healey's "Mass Leads Act Roadshow" to promote an economic development bill that she sent to the Legislature in early March. The $3.5 billion bill invests in the growth and development of life sciences and climate-tech companies. About $2.8 billion of the bill would come from state borrowing. The remaining $750 billion would come in the form of tax incentives.
