WESTBOROUGH, MA — Two exit ramps connecting the Mass Pike to I-495 will close this week as part of the larger overhaul of the interchange between the two major freeways.

The closure of the exit 106 ramps from both east and westbound I-90 to southbound I-495 will beg Tuesday at 11 p.m. and last until 5 a.m. Wednesday, according to MassDOT.

During the closure, drivers who need to access southbound I-495 will be directed to use I-495 northbound to exit 59B (Route 9 westbound), to reverse direction back to I-495 southbound.

According to MassDOT, the reconstruction of the Mass Pike and I-495 interchange will "replace the interchange, eliminate the old toll booth area and weaving areas, improve ramp spacing, acceleration, and deceleration lanes, and add an auxiliary lane from I-495 northbound to Route 9."
