WESTBOROUGH, MA — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation is hosting a public meeting to discuss the Hopkinton/Westborough interchange, which connects I-495 to I-90.

MassDOT said that the meeting will provide the public with updates on the planned construction and traffic milestones for the project. The project is meant to reduce crashes, congestion, traffic and travel time through the area, according to MassDOT.

Once complete, the project would replace the interchange and eliminate the old toll booth and weaving areas. It would also improve ramp spacing, in addition to acceleration and deceleration lanes. There would also be an additional auxiliary lane from I-495 northbound to Route 9, as well as new bridges.

The virtual meeting will take place on Sept. 16 at 6 p.m. You can find details on how to register here.
