School In Westborough Resumes With Senior Parade

WESTBOROUGH, MA — The 2023-24 school year in Westborough kicks off Wednesday with an annual high school tradition.

Incoming Westborough High School seniors will participate in the annual parade beginning around 7:30 a.m. outside the West Main Street school. The parade will last until around 8:30 a.m.

The start of school also means an increased amount of traffic on local roads as school buses pick up and drop off students during the morning and afternoon hours.

Students and parents will see a few new items during this upcoming school year. The new state budget has deemed that all public students will receive breakfast and lunch free at the point of sale. Westborough Superintendent Amber Bock is also launching a new communications initiative in this school year that will include a new district website later this fall, a new Westborough TV show featuring Bock and the ParentSquare platform.

Students will have three days to get acclimated to new classrooms ahead of the Labor Day weekend and the Labor Day holiday on Monday.
