Senior/Disabled Taxation Aid Committee Seeks Members
Here are five pieces of information to help fuel your day in Westborough.

It's Thursday, and that means we've put together this list of things going on in Westborough to help make your day a little brighter, easier and more fun. For a full list of things to do this week, look at the Patch calendar of events.
1. The Westborough Senior/Disabled Taxation Aid Committee seeks members.
Three residents are needed to serve on the new Westborough Senior/Disabled Taxation Aid Committee, Selectman Timothy Dodd says.
Residents interested in serving on the committee can contact the selectmen.
2. Congratulate Jacob Ruzecki.
The Westborough resident "was recently part of an all-school academic experiment called Project: Pomfret," at the Pomfret School in Connecticut, where he is a student, school officials said in a press release.
"From Dec. 3 to Dec. 18, the students and faculty at Pomfret were at school, but not, in the conventional sense, in school," school officials said.
"In place of class time and homework, they were instead out tackling one of 29 innovative projects--among them designing and building a real footbridge, conducting statistical and laboratory analyses on the economic and nutritional value of organic produce, and trying to make sense of the Middle East, the environment, hip-hop music, the practicality of dams; and actually producing and using biodiesel fuel."
3. It's quiet at the Westborough Senior Center.
The senior center is not holding any activities on Thursday, or Friday, according to the Westborough Senior Scene. Mini-bus transportation is available, though.
4. Root for the Rangers.
Here is Thursday's Westborough High School sports schedule:
- Varsity boys ice hockey: vs. Algonquin, at NorthStar Ice Sports, 12:10 p.m.
Samuel Kruse and Scott Erickson scored a goal each as the Westborough High School varsity ice hockey team defeated visiting Auburn, 2-0, at NorthStar Ice Sports on Monday.
