Stuffed Animals Donation to Comfort Kids in Westborough Ambulances
Residents, and their relatives, of the new Highlands retirement community presented the stuffed animals to Westborough firefighters Sunday.

Stuffed animals will help comfort young patients brought to hospitals by Westborough ambulances.
The newest kids on the block in Westborough presented about three dozen stuffed animals to the Westborough Fire Department's shift one on Sunday.
Residents and family members at the Highlands retirement community donated the stuffed animals.

The Highlands, at 129 East Main St., opposite the Westborough Post Office, will hold its grand opening from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26. A ribbon cutting will be held at 1:30 p.m.
"We are new to the community, and we wanted to let them know somehow that we are part of the community and we want to be welcomed in. And this is our way to welcome them," Activity Coordinator Christiana Pitts said.

Fire Capt. Brian Roberts welcomed the Highlands community members to Westborough, and thanked them for the stuffed animals.
"It's a nice distraction if you have a child that's suffering an illness, or has had an injury. We can give them a comfort item while we're caring for them. It means a lot to them, and it means a lot to us. Thank you very much for allowing us to have those," he said.
