WESTBOROUGH, MA — Incumbent James McGovern has been declared the winner of the 2nd District U.S. Rep. seat, according to The Associated Press. McGovern, a Democrat, defeated Cornelius Shea, an Independent.

The AP also declared incumbent Democrat Kate Donaghue a winner over Republican challenger Boyd Conklin in the state house race in the 19th Worcester District.

At the top of the ticket, Democrat Sen. Elizabeth Warren is the projected winner in the Massachusetts U.S. Senate race against Republican challenger John Deaton in an Associated Press projection shortly after polls closed at 8 p.m. on Tuesday night.

The AP has also projected Vice President Kamala Harris as the winner against former President Donald Trump in the race for the state's 11 electoral college votes.

In the Governor's Council race in the 7th District, Democratic incumbent Paul DePalo beat Republican Andrew Couture, according to the AP.
