Westborough High School To Begin Composting Student Scraps
Leftovers from student meals will be turned into soil and given back to local residents.

WESTBOROUGH, MA — Westborough High School is about to become a waste-to-energy resource.
Starting Dec. 7, the town's compost provider, Black Earth Compost, will start picking up lunch scraps from the school and turning the leftovers into soil. The compost will then be available to local residents for gardens, according to the group Sustainable Westborough.
That same day, all high schoolers will get a lesson on how to correctly compost — for example, what items can and can't be thrown into the school's new compost bins.
