Westborough Hosting First Flu Shot Clinic As Season Begins

WESTBOROUGH, MA — Westborough will hold the town's first flu shot clinic of the 2023-24 flu season in early October.

The Oct. 11 clinic will take place at the senior center, and will offer the standard dose of the vaccine, plus a shot designed for people over age 65.

Flu season typically begins in October when cases start to rise through early spring. Flu in Massachusetts was "minimal" as of Sept. 22, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

A new version of the COVID-19 vaccine is also now becoming available following FDA approval last week.
