Westborough Man Charged With Child Rape

WESTBOROUGH, MA — A man has been charged in connection with the sexual assault of a minor in Westborough, according to the Westborough Police Department.

Rigoberto M. Vasquez Mendoza is facing charges following a police investigation into a sexual assault involving a child who was more than 10 years younger than him. The investigation led police to the 33-year-old's apartment, but the residence was empty when they arrived.

That is when Westborough police partnered with the United States Marshals Service and the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section to locate Mendoza.

Mendoza was found on August 14 in a Worcester residence.

He was arraigned in Westborough District Court, and his bail was set at $5,000.
