Westborough To Mark Arbor Day In 2024 With Tree Upgrades
Westborough's public works department will perform special maintenance in recognition of Arbor Day.

WESTBOROUGH, MA — Westborough will mark Arbor Day in 2024 by upgrades trees and plants across town.
Following an affirmative select board vote on March 12, the town will acknowledge the April 26 Arbor Day holiday. The public works department will use the occasion to "perform tree maintenance and plantings with the support of local businesses, contractors, and the Westborough School Department," according to the town.
The town usually marks the tree-theme holiday. In 2023, Westborough dedicated an ornamental tree at Lake Chauncy.

Other communities in Massachusetts will mark the holiday with various activities in 2024, according to the Arbor Day Foundation. The annual April holiday is meant to encourage people to plant trees, and it has become an international event.
