Westborough Police Officer Placed On Leave Following Arrest: Report

The Westborough police officer arrested on Friday was placed on paid leave following his appearance in court.

WESTBOROUGH, MA - The Westborough police officer arrested last Friday has been placed on paid leave, according to WCVB.

William Kearney, 36, had his department-issued firearm in the glove box when he was arrested. Westborough Police Chief Todd Minardi said he was placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the case.

Kearney was charged with operating under the influence of liquor, carrying a firearm while intoxicated, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and a marked lanes violation.
