Westborough Students One Of Few To Win National Merit Scholarship
The Westborough senior is among only 16 in Massachusetts to receive a college-funded National Merit award.

WESTBOROUGH, MA — A Westborough High School student will be heading to college in the fall with a National Merit Scholarship.
The National Merit scholarships announced this week are funded by the colleges that each student is planning to attend. About 3,000 students across the U.S. earned a college-funded National Merit scholarship, but only 16 are from Massachusetts.
Westborough senior Olivia Yoon Seo Lee has earned a college-sponsored scholarship funded by the University of Southern California. Lee will attend USC in the fall and is planning to pursue a degree in environmental engineering.

These awards provide between $500 and $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate study at the institution financing the scholarship. An additional group of scholars will be announced in July, bringing the total number of college-sponsored Merit Scholarship recipients in the 2022 competition to about 3,800.
