Woman Dies In 2-Alarm Westborough House Fire
The Belknap Street fire broke out just before 2 p.m. Monday, according to Westborough Fire Chief Patrick Purcell.
WESTBOROUGH, MA — A house fire in Westborough Monday claimed the life of a woman, fire officials confirmed.
The fire broke out just before 2 p.m. at a home along Belknap Street, Westborough Fire Chief Patrick Purcell confirmed Monday afternoon. The victim's daughter arrived at the home and found it on fire before calling 911, Purcell said.
When Westborough firefighters arrived, they entered the home and found the woman dead. Purcell said the woman appeared to be over age 65.

The Westborough fire department and state fire officials were called to the scene to investigate the cause. The fire did not appear to be criminal in nature, Purcell said.
During the fire, a propane tank being stored alongside the house — like for a gas grill — exploded.
