Pepperell Skydiving Accident: Experienced Skydiver Dies, DA Says

The skydiver, who was identified as a 60-year-old man, was an independent contractor who worked with Pepperell Skydiving filming jumps.

PEPPERELL, MA — A 60-year-old man who was an experience skydiver died Saturday after suffering what a preliminary investigation revealed was a parachute malfunction, Middlesex County District Attorney Marian Ryan said in a statement.

Pepperell police responded to a report at the Pepperell Skydiving Center on Nashua Road at around 3 p.m. When authorities arrived on scene, they found the body of the man, the DA said.

The man, who has not been identified, worked as an independent contractor filming jumps with the skydiving company, the DA said.

No foul play is suspected and the DA said a joint investigation is being conducted between local, state and federal authorities.
