Massachusetts Names A New State Fire Marshal

Lt. Governor Karyn Polito tweeted a photo of her Gov. Charlie Baker and new Massachusetts Fire Marshal Peter Ostroskey.

WESTFORD, MA - The Massachusetts Fire Service Commission selected Deputy Fire Marshal Peter Ostroskey to be the Commonwealth's Fire Marshal.

He replaces Fire Marshal Stephen Coan, who retired after 20 years on the job.

Ostroskey has had a 30-year career in fire services. He was the fire chief in Uxbridge before joining the Department of Fire Services in 2012.

The state's fire marshal oversees fire, explosive and hazardous materials investigations, the state firefighting academy and fire safety.
