Memorial Day 2016: Westford Ceremonies, Parade

WESTFORD, MA - Considering going away for Memorial Day weekend? Wait until you hear what the city has planned as Westford celebrates the lives and memories of the United States' fallen soldiers.

Memorial Day ceremonies will commence at 9 a.m. on May, 29 at Freedom Park.

There will also be ceremonies at the Forge Village monument at 9:15 a.m., Graniteville monument on North Main Street at 9:45 a.m. and at Nab Lake, Byrne Ave. dam at 10:30 a.m.

At 10:45 a.m., the reading will of the honor rolls on the Town Common will take place.

Rounding out the day will be the parade starting at noon from the Roudenbush Community Center to the Town Common where various tributes will be given.

Any veterans interested in participating in the parade should meet at the Cameron Senior Center at 8 a.m.

All veterans and Memorial Day event participants are invited to a luncheon after the event at the Frederick S. Healy American Legion Post #159 immediately following the service at the Town Common.
