• Bluegrass band Hosmer Mountain Boys to perform Jan. 10 in Westford MA (wickedlocal.com) — Westford’s Parish Center for the Arts will host bluegrass group The Hosmer Mountain Boys on Saturday, Jan. 10 at 7:30 p.m., with cabaret-style seating and BYO food and drink. Tickets range from $20 to $25 and can be purchased in advance at pcawestford.org, where residents can also explore other upcoming PCA events.
   

• Conditions cooperate as people flock to Nashoba Valley, Wachusett Mountain (lowellsun.com) — Skiers and snowboarders are praising the snow and short lift lines at Nashoba Valley Ski Area in Westford, where families and holiday visitors are squeezing in runs during school vacation week. With strong snowmaking, a busy lesson program, and nearby snow tubing, the area is drawing crowds while Wachusett Mountain in Princeton also reports excellent early-season conditions and a popular new six-seat lift.
   

• Tuesday's high school sports: Lowell boys basketball team captures Greater Lowell title (lowellsun.com) — Westford Academy hosted the Greater Lowell Holiday Classic, where Lowell High’s boys captured the tournament title while the Ghosts closed with a strong win over Leominster. Westford’s boys and girls teams both earned victories, highlighted by standout performances from Liam Arnold, Teddy Hirbour, Kaitlyn Pepin, and Phoenix Philbrick. Several local players, including Westford athletes, were named to all-tournament teams.
