She was last seen at 9:30 a.m., heading from her first period to her second period class.
Superintendent Bill Olsen said that this was the first time a student had gone missing in his 27 years in Westford, and asked everyone in town to remain vigilant.
"We couldn't ask for any better cooperation (in the search)," said Olsen. "Every part of town is being searched."
She was scheduled to take part in the rehearsal for graduation, which is taking place tomorrow, and it is possible she may have become nervous.
Olsen said that this was highly unusual in regard to Campbell's normal behavior, noting that she is a very bright student.
He went on to say that it is very unlikely today's North Division 1 Sectional girls' lacrosse finals that were to take place at the school will still happen and it has yet to be determined whether an awards night taking place tonight will still occur.
UPDATE: She has been found.
