Woman Upset With Nine-Year-Old Staring at Her Inside Five Guys

The following information was supplied by the Westford Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Feb. 22, 2:44 p.m. - Two women were involved in a partial verbal altercation outside of Five Guys. One, a mother, said she went up to get her food inside of the restaurant and when she came back the other woman was upset that the mother's nine-year-old daughter was staring at her.

The mother asked the other woman for understanding, given that the girl was only nine years old and apologized. Eventually she left and asked firefighters in the parking lot to call the police due to the other woman not letting the issue go.

By the time officers reached the scene, the other woman entered another nearby store, and walked away when police tried to ask for her name, only stating that the child was rude before leaving.

The officer complimented the mother in trying to deescalate the confrontation.
