5 Things: Taste of West Roxbury; Coffee Hours at Hynes Playground
Enjoy more than 20 West Roxbury restaurants tonight at the Irish Social Club at the 2nd annual Taste of West Roxbury.
- This morning, Mayor Thomas Menino is scheduled to attend a community coffee hour. For free coffee, refreshments, and to receive a flowering plant be there from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Hynes Playground.
- Also tonight, and not to be missed -- is the 2nd annual Taste of West Roxbury with 24 restaurants serving up their most delicious offerings! Starting at 6 p.m. at the Irish Social Club of Boston. Tickets can be purchased at www.wrms.org or at the door. Tickets $25 in advance, $30 at the door. Please note the Irish Social Club bar will be cash only.
- From May 8 through May 19 (weather permitting), the VFW Parkway/Providence Highway corridor from Dedham into West Roxbury will be resurfaced at night. Lane closures are expected.
- On Friday is a Frozen Friday DJ Public Skate at Jim Roche Community Ice Arena. 8 p.m. $5 admission/$5 for rental skates. Live DJ and snack bar.
- All moms are free to get into the New England Aquarium on Sunday - with someone who paid for a full admission ticket. Happy Mother's Day!
