Officials to Discuss Updates on Proposed Gas Line Project in West Roxbury

An informational meeting will be held Wednesday night at the Elks Lodge.

Officials with Algonquin Gas Transmission, LLC plan to hold an informational meeting in West Roxbury on Wednesday regarding a proposed project to construct new pipeline in several portions of the neighborhood, according to a recent announcement from project representatives.

The meeting will be held Wednesday, Sept. 3 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Elks Lodge, 1 Morrell St. in West Roxbury.

The aim of the meeting is to provide updates regarding the proposed project, which includes the construction of about 1.73 miles of new 16-inch and 24-inch diameter lateral pipeline along Washington, Grove and Centre streets, as well as a new metering and regulating station at the intersection of Centre and Grove streets, according to the announcement.

At a meeting in March, Boston city officials expressed opposition to the proposed plan.
