Preview: 2nd Annual Taste of West Roxbury on Thursday

Treat your mouth and stomach to a smorgasbord of succulent samples from the neighborhood's eclectic food scene at Thursday night's 2nd annual Taste of West Roxbury.

Last year's Taste drew more than 400 people, and this year's affair at the Irish Social Club of Boston, is expected to bring even more people in.

"West Roxbury Main Streets is very excited to be building on the momentum and success of last year's first Taste of West Roxbury, and we are looking forward to another great event," said Matthew Gruber, board president of West Roxbury Main Streets. "We plan to highlight over 20 local restaurants and are pleased to provide a fun night for family and friends in partnership with another great West Roxbury organization - the Irish Social Club."

DJ Dave Solimine will be providing the tunes, and it will be a cash bar, and of course there will be raffle prizes! 

"We are planning to add a couple of great new components this year including giving out reusable bags to collect menus from all our great restaurants," said Gruber.

"We are really pleased to host our signature event in the district in a way that directly relates to mission of the organization supporting our local businesses," added Gruber, as all proceeds from the event will support West Roxbury Main Streets' community revitalization efforts.

Tickets can be purchased at www.wrms.org or at the door. Tickets will be $25 in advance, and $30 at the door. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the events goes until 9 p.m.
