Ronald Vigue Joins Deutsches Altenheim Foundation
New Executive Director of Development of Deutsches Altenheim Foundation

The Deutsches Altenheim Foundation has appointed Ronald Vigue as its new Executive Director of Development. Ron will design and lead the Foundation’s fundraising and development activities as part of the philanthropic mission to support of the Deutsches Altenheim senior care community in West Roxbury. Ron will be working with Babacar Diop, Chief Executive Officer of Deutsches Altenheim, Inc., to implement the nonprofit’s strategic vision of providing outstanding care for elders through its health and senior housing programs. Ron is an experienced fund raiser who is looking forward, in conjunction with the Board of the Foundation, to develop an impactful, successful and long-lasting program which will raise the funds necessary to meet Deutsches Altenheim’s goals.
The Deutsches Altenheim campus includes the 133 bed German Centre skilled nursing home, the 62 unit Edelweiss Village assisted living facility and a day program for up to 35 seniors. Established in 1914, Deutsches Altenheim has expanded, adapted and flourished over time, maintains a consistent 5-Star rating, and continues to provide superior long-term care, short-term rehabilitation, memory care, assisted living, and adult day health services to residents and clients in a trusting and experienced environment.
Ron has been the National Gifts Officer for Reach Out and Read in Boston where he designed methods to obtain major gifts and establish long- lasting connections with dedicated supporters. Recently he closed the largest gift ever given by an individual to Reach Out and Read during its 30-year history.

Ron has also served as an expert guide with Aperio Philanthropy headquartered in Brooklyn. This organization works alongside the staff of non-profit organizations to help them achieve their fundraising potential. In this setting, Ron developed customized, fundraising approaches with hands-on support to enable the client organization to produce results quickly.
The Foundation is convinced that Ron’s skills will enable him to develop and implement the fundraising program that will help make Deutsches Altenheim financially sound and successful for the foreseeable future.
