West Roxbury 5th Grader Wins Earth Day T-shirt Design Contest

Ohrenberger School student Blair Zhou was honored by National Grid for his t-shirt design answering the question - 'How do I save energy?'

 

Ohrenberger School fifth-grader Blair Zhou was honored on May 3 for winning first place in a National Grid-sponsored Earth Day T-shirt Design Contest. 

This year’s theme for elementary school students was "How do I save energy?” As part of Zhou's winning, National Grid is donating $250 to the Ohrenberger School for school supplies, and provided hard hats as honorary Earth Day team members.

This is the third year of the contest, a partnership with the Green Education Foundation. Zhou was honored at the school by Victoria Waters, CEO of the Green Education Foundation, and National Grid's Peter Nagle. 

National Grid employee volunteers wore Zhou’s winning t-shirt design during Earth Day activities, and across Massachusetts during the past couple weeks, according to a National Grid press statement.
