West Roxbury Kids Participate in Annual Walk to School Day

Students from the Patrick Lyndon School in West Roxbury participated in the annual Walk to School Day on Wednesday, Oct. 7.
Students from all grades met up at various meeting points in the neighborhood and gathered to walk to school together. Boston Police officers assigned to District E-5 (West Roxbury) came out to provide an escort.

The officers walked the students all the way to school to ensure their safety. Once in the school yard, the young students gathered around the officers to thank them with a salute.
“While some (salutes) were better than others, each one of them was from the heart,” the department said.
